Brunswick World Tournament of Champions

History

The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company sponsored this tournament from its beginning in 1965 through 1993.

General Tire took over sponsorship for just one year, in 1994, the Brunswick Corporation took over for several years, and the current sponsor is H&R Block.

Originally held in Akron, the tournament was hosted by Fairlawn, Ohio, from 1965 through 1994. Under Brunswick's sponsorship, the tournament moved to Lake Zurich, Illinois, in 1995 and to Reno in 1997. It's now hosted by Las Vegas.

There was no tournament in 2001 and the 2002 tournament was moved into 2003 when the PBA went to its September-through-March season format.
